For this day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira: At 8 AM your driver will pick you up from your accommodation and drive towards the west. On the way you stop to see the holy trees of argan. It is a special tree adapted to a semi-desertic areas and valued for its medicinal properties. Goats climb these trees for grazing.

After around 3 hours drive In an exceptional setting on the Atlantic coastline a rocky peninsula defying the waves this Old Portuguese town surprises you with its unexpected architecture: blue-shuttered house and cannons pointed out over the open sea.

THE BEACH: This beach is well-known by the organizers of sailboard contests, and presents a real challenge for surf professionals.

THE SAKAL: Founded for purely military ends, it kept watch on the ocean and preserved the city against any attack thanks to a collection of bronze European cannons constantly aimed at the ocean.

THE FISH SOUK: It offers a variety of fresh fish straight from the port. Tourist can taste grilled fish right there, in a corner. The medina of Essaouira (formerly “Mogador”) is a UNESCO World Heritage listed city and is one of the world’s best examples of a late-18th century fortified town.

A visit to Essaouira is not complete without a stroll along the town’s sunlit pedestrian main square, near the Palace Prince Moulay el Hassan. Also required is a visit to Skala du Port, the fishing harbor where you will have jaw-dropping views of the ancient Portuguese ramparts. Be sure to take time to explore the ramparts and wander through the aromatic and sparkly spice and jewelry souks of the medina.

And our return to Marrakech around 19h00.
